Elphinstone Rreef by speed boat

DIVE SITE
- Description: One of the most popular and sought-after dive sites in Marsa Alam, featuring wall and drift diving. The offshore reef is 375 meters long, with the top starting at 5 meters and gradually sloping down to the northern and southern plateaus.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Oceanic White Tip (Longimanus) Shark: Best seen from October to December.
- Hammerhead Shark: Best seen from June to July.

MARINE LIFE
- Unique soft coral gardens covering the top and sides of the reef with a large variety of small fish.
- Common Sightings: Napoleon wrasse, moray eels, nudibranchs, yellowfin snapper.
- Occasional Sightings: Whale shark, manta ray, hawksbill turtle, and very curious Oceanic White Tip (Longimanus) sharks.

DIVE DETAILS
- Difficulty Level: Medium to Difficult. Suitable for advanced divers.
- Required: Minimum of 60 logged dives and advanced certification level or Open Water Diver (OWD) with Deep Specialty.
- Dive Site Level: Wall and drift dive, with depths ranging from 5m to 30m. Sometimes moderate current.

TIME & TRANSFER
- Travel Time: 25-30 minutes by speedboat in an east-north direction.
- Trip Duration: Half day trip.

ENTRANCE & EXIT
- Entry: Back entry from the speedboat.
- Exit: Remove gear in the water, pass it to the captain, and board the boat (no ladder).

FEES
- Elphinstone Fees: Includes guide and speedboat fees. SMB (Surface Marker Buoy) and a guide per person are mandatory.
